Informationssammlung um einen Skill Planner zu schaffen
« on: July 28, 2005, 06:14:48 pm »
hey guys, i always liked to plan my chars before starting to play with them (ok, most of the chars i plan never get to exist :P) and in regular LoD i used a very good skill planner, heres the link: www.d2items.com/skills.php.
and i was thinking... i can try to make one like this for CE in Visual Basic, but i would need help, cause i dont know any formulas for the damage/duration/mana of the skills here in CE. i asked ChaosEnergy and he said that the forum guys would help ^^ so here i am, asking u guys, whoever can help i apreciate.

PS: of course, once i make the program i will tranfer it to Chaos, so he can put it somewhere we all can have it ;)

Do u also know how to Prog Javascript?
Would be more easy to use a web based Planner i think.

Don't know much about the Skill changes so can't help.

If you send me all the Skilltabs ( so every level of every skill with stats ) i will find a way to create a planer like d2items's one.

But the problem is to get these Skilltabs.

you can just test it. Make a lvl 96 test char in sp. Then you see how the skill develops the first 30 lvls - maybe you can then guess what happens later.

Or download some old ladder chars and search for the über items to test how the skills develop after lvl 30

thats an idea... but why lvl 96? why not 100? :P

SP Chars are created with lvl 96 if u use the -Act5 trigger in your CE Desktop Shortcut.

yay, thanks Shinlos! i tested some chars, very good to know this trick ^^ but still, some skills have very simple formulas, that add a certain 'X' amount of damage or such, but some others are complex... like the amazon dodging skills, theyre % increase is not linear, and that becomes kinda hard to calculate :/

As far as i can see, most formulars aren't changed in ce, so that u can use most of them also for ce.
The big changes are 'just' the synergy-effects, wich are in- / decreased / added / removed.
(Or did u search just for the formulas? Sry didn't find them for myself :(  All i found, were the specific values for the specific lvls, as u have them in the calc)

There is a more or less complete list of the changes at this page, but it is in german, so i don't know how far it will help u :(
http://chaos-sanktuary.net/index.php?id=5 (Click the char and scroll down to the bottom)
( http://diablo2.ingame.de/spiel/skills/ <- there u can look up the ger/eng skillnames)

Sry for the poorly help that will probably be, but it was the best i found.

PS: Try this for more info for the formulas, perhaps u have any luck there. Didn't checked it by myself, but it came to my mind, because it is THE (HELP)SITE for mod making i guess.
http://phrozenkeep.it-point.com/

(Did chaos say why he didn't wanted to give u the formulas? Cause he will surely have them, otherwise i can't imagine how he do the changes to the game ^^ )

It's just one of those days
Where you don't wanna wake up
Everything is f****d, everybody sucks.
You don't really know why
But you wanna justify rippin' someone's head off
No human contact
And if you interact your life is on contract
Your best bet is to stay away mo****f****r!

The list of changes on Chaos Sanctuary isn't complete yet.
Also don't know if maybe something isn't correct.
