Topic: 8kb bug 8k.txt not updating

The file http://chaosempire.info/8k.txt is not being updated when a character hits the 8kb limit.
It's been empty ever since the player names from the old realm got removed off of that list.

Judging from the last few postings in this subforum bdpf is running in to a lot of those 8kb limit issues. I myself took the chance to leave a game after looking at this list and lost many items. No doubt several others have (or will) run into the same problem.

Should we use another url to check for our character sizes?

Could the list be extended to include all characters with more than 7.0 or 7.5 kb filesize? This way it could be used as an early warning system hopefully preventing the future loss of items.

I am sorry to report that http://ccc2.chaosempire.net/d2register/8k.txt is not working either.
Last night Amduscia (barbarian) hit the 8kb size.

Having ran into this issue before I already suspected I was close to 8kb filesize, so I checked the totally empty txt file.
I dropped my inventory including 20 runes, and picked up only the items (leaving the runes in the game), saved the game and rejoined.
Then I picked up all runes, saved the game. I checked the 8k.txt page which was still empty. When I joined a game today the runes were not in my inventory.

Can you please check/fix the 8kb reporting?

While you are at it, would it be possible to have the 8k.txt include the actual (current) file size of characters above 7kb ?

there is no file about 8k, so no char in limit range
so file works still fine..btw it is a copy of the old script..so it is ok

Danke Joe, dass du die 8kb-Liste nach Jans Vorschlägen bearbeitet hast...   

Nun seh ich endlich wieder offiziell, dass ich viel zu viel Zeug sammle...
