Hey just wanted some of the regulars who see me online in the CCC and my friends online to know that I will not be logging onto the CCC anymore.   HC is unplayable and I only like to play that now.  I'll still be on the forums still but not in mulitplayer anymore. 

Chaos, you have my username/pass.  Feel free to just delete my CCC account when you have the time.

so i dont think that the unplayble is the true reason..

The character speed in SP 2 is not identical to 7.66 base movement speed. 

I'll give you an example of how the movement change ruined hardcore.  Ever try to dodge lava maws while your moving so slowly?  They do alot of damage as is and spray a good part of the screen.  Before the slowed movement you could barely make it out of the acid alive.  Now its certain death.

Yes the SP's altered movement is the only reason, the new movement makes hardcore impossible (and not fun) to play.

I'm not trying to cause trouble.  I just do not like the "adjustment" to player movement and it ruined the game for me and I hope im the only one who feels that way. 

I loved the mod prior to 7.66 SP 1 =^.^=

We played last night, and (true) Lava maws were not fun, they never have been.  You ran a tank-a-sorc, I ran a strafe-a-zon.  We were mid-40's to early 50's, and ran into Lava maws in the catacombs.  Due to a difference in playing styles, you took more high-damage hits than I. (I use decoy to find where the enemy is and to distract them while I deal with them).  The highest damage hits I recall you taking was from the lightning balls of the Tainted class deamons, not the barf from Lava maws.

I never tried SP1, I was in high-priority distractions all Easter weekend and barely got onto the forum with at most minimal playing, which apparently was not on server 4.  I note that SP2 run/walk seems some, but not much, slower than 7.66; not enough slower to make-or-break HC playability (I also am HC only).  I just don't use a Blitzkrieg/Banzai playing style when alone.

LOL yeah I play wild, guess thats why everyone at my dorm calls me "wild child" :-p but seriously I took damage cause my resists in LR were barely over 10 and I had very very junky gear.  The only thing that kept me alive against tainted and fire arrow archers in Act II was the fact that I could run with all my charms. 

Im talking about a fresh new character in PoC who doesn't have a high level char to mule 150% worth frw charms just to move at a normal speed.  Thats what makes it unplayable. 

I'll definitely miss playing with everyone.

You have to play very slowly in HC, this is the only way to get a char up to the 80 s or 90 s.
If resists dont fit theres no chance, i still think the mod is based on SC....like i wrote in feedback.
I m playing this mod continuous with a lot of changes, and you `ll have to allow for all possibillities to get a chance in HC.
And i understand that newer players often get frusrated by this.

you should never forget, that HC is for players, who are bored of playing SC...but SC means CE SC...

This means, you know, about all items, about new monsters, and also of all theother things..
So HC is for players, who are near perfect gear,tactic players...

i think u should really overthink ur decision ... hc already does not have a big group of gamers .. so everyone that leaves is a loss ...

i just player for 5 minutes after sp2 , but i think that "refilled" base movement speed gives a better chance to play now!
i think u should just try and really try to change your strategy ... when i started everyone told me to "Look carefully" before u run into groups of monsters ( okay .. i actually dont, but i havent died 1 time yet in 2 ladders .. guess im one lucky dude ^^)

i think u should maybe stop for a week and the start a HUGE comeback : P

My strategy is fine.  I never really played anything except Amazons and Assassins before CE.  I have a had characters reach 80+ HC before and I have a Golemancer that is almost lvl 80 (lost interest in playing him after I couldnt gamble Full Trangs in over 2 weeks with almost non-stop gambling) 

I got tired of seeing Frozen Orb / M. Swarm / Nova sorc's so I wanted to try a sorc I saw (the Lightning Fury Sorc) which was the "Wild" sorc webby was talking about.
Was... different is all I can say ^.^

Also when the ladder reset, I had a amazon who was #2 in the ladder for some time.  I deleted her to prove a point to my friends that ladder stats mean nothing.  (ladder would mean something if it was a constant battle to the top and if top person could be "challenged" but all it is right now is a race to 100 and then that character "retires" so account owner can brag) 

But you don't need "super" gear to survive in HC.  Gear and things like Farn's/ogden's just enhance your character.  If you character build ever depends on those things to work, then it is a bad build.  (and yes the amazon was over lvl 30 too)

But the perma decrepify (or new speed) gives the monsters too much of an advantage.  Also I recall a discussion about trying to make melee more common on CCC.  Slowing down toons only encourages RANGED play to surive.  Kind of a step backwards if you ask me.

DarkKatGirl mentioned that she would stay in the forum, and play SP ver 7.66 SP0.  Also invited other SP players to TCP with her.  She's OK.

I want to keep this forum board free and clean of personal/personalty comments; we can disagree, even sharply, without verbal razors (or pipe wrenches).

Toss me apples, I'll boil them with sugar & cinnamon until they're a nice goopy sauce, and stir in the whine.  *Killer* sauce on pork chops.

We play nice, OK?
