Topic: Crash on Act Change

Hi,

This post is for my friend and I'll have more details on the problem soon but I wanted to quickly ask if anyone has had a similar problem.

On 7.65SP3 my friend killed Andy on Norm Quest log changed and showed: Talk to Warriv. He went to do so the loading screen appeared and just when the cinematics would show the game crashes instead.

Any ideas as to what could cause this ?

Defectiv cinematics cd or copy onto the harddisk i would think.

Mmm after a few tries it doesn't seem to be working. We'll go for the full desinstallation and see if it corrects the problem.

I get this problem when I'm playing music (mp3s, flac etc). This is not a Chaos Empire problem, but a generic D2 problem. Does this fit the scenario you have ?

As I said, I'm not having this problem so I'm trying various things with my friend to see where the problem originates.

After fresh install, still not working, tried the empty mpqs again, nada.

I'll go over his video and sound drivers could be that :S

i read somewhere about issues with sounddrivers and act change issues..
this could be a good point to start with testing
