item drops
« on: September 27, 2005, 04:19:40 am »
I saw somewhere that somebody had posted (don't remember if it was in here or PK) about Cain taking a portal back but not leaving one for the player.  Was thinking about item drops--where do the items come from on the monster? They don't have pockets so they have to drop from somewhere, just wondering.   Any thoughts?????

Item drops don't always appear to be logical. For instance, and bow wielding monster who drops bolts really did deserve to die :-)
Not only that, but if I had a (for example) Maras, I would wear it !! I suspect that the real answer is just too gory. Having killed the monster, the character then proceeds to rummage throught the entrails, seeing if there's anything of interest. The only difference to a find item barb, is that he puts the entrails through a sieve as well.

Bon appetit !!

Item drops?! I would like someone to explain how my level 1 character can carry around an entire inventory full of Ancient Plates on his back, yet is unable to wear one. THEN we can start thinking about questions like the following:

Classic question: How can a swam of mosquito's carry around a piece of armor?
When the last spark of hope has gone, so will humanity dissapear in its own cradle of darkness

Very simple ..... these items are the size of dust particiles, so when a monster dies and POPS these items are inflated with air and there you have it! Now that in mind ... one must use crafting and rune words to make these items worthy of your needs and use.
