1. Introduction


When arrows are blocked by shields and throwing spears are dodged there she comes, striking from beside with burning lightings and shield-breaking hits from the majesty of the one and only weapon, the two-handed spear. This guide is for everybody who loves the assassin-like amazon, the two-handed melee amazon. This character has a really high damage-output and two really strong damage kinds, lighting and physical damage. Here strength is a great physical damage-output onto one monster and a lighting "mass-killer" for the hordes of undeads, demons and animals but be aware because she is very vulnerable to damage on her because of missing block and the problem to reach enough life, reduce and resistences. You will need a good handling and some skill in using defense-skills like decoy, slow missles and some oskills to make her a powerful character. In a party, she will support the party with a boost of kill speed and therefore becomes the defense of the other characters ingame, especially auras will make her even more powerful.



2.Stats


Strength:
Boosts the physical damage and allows us to carry elite amazone-spears and the rest of our gear but is third-ranked when compared to the other stats. Just push strength high enough for elite amazone spears and the equipment you want to carry.

Dexterity:
Boosts the attack-rating and is also a need for elite amazone-spears. Dex ist 4th ranked, the reasons are; charged strike and chain-lighting strike always hit, so you do not need ar and because of two useable masteries and the ar bonus of jab the chance to hit with jab will be high enough. We also do not need Dex for blocking because we do not play with a shield. Therefore only push it for the dex-requirment for amazone-spears and maybe some point at start to hit good enough in the early game.

Vitality:
Vitality is most important for our character because when a monster attacks us it will hit us because our defense is very low and we are not able to block. For playing this kind of amazone through hell we really need about 12.000life or even more. In fact we shall put nearly every able point into Vitality.

Energy
ChS and Cls will need some mana but we will also leech enough but to start of it is a good idea to get around 50 Energy without equipment to use ChS and decoy fluently.


3.Skills:


Bow and crossbow-Tree:

Amazone spear mastery: 30 points because it gives dmg, ar and CS, that is all we need for our physical dmg.

No other bow skills needed (i dont even know why this skill is in the bow-tree)

Passiv and magic-tree:

Critical Strike: 1 point because with +skills it will become high enough and in higher slvl the increase of CS is too low to skill it with additional points.

Penetrate: 1-30 point/points. It depends on your ar. When you need more put points into it to hit better with jab. In fact this is the last skill you shall max out because others are more effective.

Inner Sight: 1 point because it is need for decoy.

Slow Missles: 1 point because it is need for decoy.

Decoy: 30 points because it is a very useful skill to defend youself and to strike from beside without standing in a horde of monsters (the decoy will do) and is a synergie for our wally.

Valkyrie, Dodge, Avoid, Evade: 0 points!!! Here you might think: "Why shouldn´t i skill it... it gives me chances to avoid hits and the wally is also a very good blocker and i maxed decoy...?" The answer is the following; the animation-sequence when we dodge, evade or avoid an attack lasts 8frames during that time you can not attack (leech) or run away and this will be deadly! A range-amazon do not get hit often but a melee-character, especially our melee-amazone will get hit and when she stands in front of a bigger pulk she will get hit often and also will d/a/e often and that means you can not attack. This will make you slow... slow means dead. If you do not believe me test it out but everybody who often plays an amazon will support this fact that d/a/e is deadly (as i said before especially for a melee-amazon) But there is still the argument of the missing wally because d/a/e is needed to skill the wally. Here there are 2 good possibilities to get her. The diva-sets amulett grants +wally and also the very useful runeword "humility" does (more about that in the item-section).

Javelin and spear-tree:

Jab: 30 because it is one of our main-skills and does good physical damage. When you meet a light-immune enemy... use jab.

Impale: 30 because it gives 10%damage as synergie to jab.

Fend: 0 points because fend is bugged extremely. You will not hit anything just the air. The damage looks good, the chance to hit also but you can not hit because it is bugged.

Power-strike: 30 points because it is synergie to ChS and ClS.

Charged Strike: 30 points because it is our best attacking skill. When you attack a bigger monster like a yeti or an act-boss or a spider all the combo-lightings of ChS will hit and the then the damage-output is amazing (more in the "how to play"-section). ChS is also a synergie to ClS.

Chainlighting Strike: 30 points because it is our third attacking skill and very effective against many weak monsters but also bugged with nex-hit-delay (or featured) but is still very very strong! ClS is also a synergie to ChS.

Poison Javelin: 1 point because it is needed for ChS and ClS.

Lighting bolt: 1 point because it is needed for ChS and ClS.

Plague Javelin: 0 points, not useable.

Lighting Fury:´0 points, not useable.

We will have 222 skillpoints at level100 including the bonus-points from quests. With maxed penetrate we will need 215 skill-points. Max out the light-damage-skills first, here is how i skilled my last one: 1.ChS, 2.ClS, 3.Energy Strike, 4.Jab, 5.Decoy, 6. Amazone spear mastery, 7.impale, 8.penetrate

There is one Teddy-Skill you have to get as fast as possible, the "spear-mastery" from the "Broodwar-Client". It grants +5spear-mastery and with it +1Skill on any item will be +2Mastery because you have 2 different masteries which affect your amazon-spear!

5. "How to play"

First of all this ama is no real melee character like a barb or a zealot. You can compare it with a kicksin or some other kinds of melee assassins. You strength is to attack the right monster from the right position. An example is when there is a huuuuge pulk of monsters and a lonely monster standing some yards away from the pulk ou attack it with ClS oder even ChS so all the other monsters will also get hit. Use decoy often and learn how to find the right positions for it, so you can attack tactical aims for an increase of your real damage output. Never ever stand in the front!

Den ersten Post nehme ich mal für eigene Sachen, die noch zu tun sind und wo ihr mir noch ein wenig helfen könntet mit Ideen und so Zeugs. :)

evtl einige sachen etwas farblich absetzen usw..aber das sind ja nur die feinheiten :D

na so schlimm können die dann ja nicht sein, wenn ihr die zeit habt die noch zu zählen

Am besten ununterbrochen 850 (bzw 855,bin grade nich sicher, wieviel xp max is) bücher der weisheit 'lesen' und dann ein fallen im blutmoor poc killen -> lvl 100

Besser gehts nicht (auf dem realm)!!! Sollte in unter 15min machbar sein, wenn

So jetzt möcht ich auch nomma was loswerden ^^

Erstma schicker Guide, aba das weisst ja schon ^^

Also zum Equip könnt man noch noch paar low/mid-lvl Sachen nennen, weil lvl 70+ muss man erstma werden ^^
Wobei man ja eigentlich nur was zu pricken brauch, den rest macht ClS und ChS ;)
Was da am besten passt, weisst bestimmt bessa als ich ^^
Nja und FC auf Equip/Charms sollte sich auch gut machen, um schnella Decoy und SM zu zaubern.
Von daher könnts auch noch dazuschreiben, dass SM prima iss um Maws/Archer zu entschärfen. man muss halt nur erstma n bissl ran an den Feind.^^

Zu Söldnern:
Hier hat man vieeel Spielraum, aba ich denke was dabei sein sollte sind Holy Freeze, um die schwache Def noch ein wenig zu puschen, und Convinction, um dann ab Hell die normal-BLitzimmunen zu entimmuniesieren und damit dann die -%blitzres wieder ziehen.
Denkbar wären:

Die Rogue mit 2 Hf Ringen und ner Infinity Stange
Vorteile: Da sie selten in nem Pulk Monster steht bekommt sie dementsprechend weniger auf die Mütze und iss so nich auf Lifeleech angewiesen wie ihre Meleekumpanen. ZUdem unterstützt sie uns tatkräftig mit SM und kann, soferns ne Kälterogue aus alp/hell iss, gegner einfrieren und zusätzlich entimmuniesieren. Ihre Zufluchtsaura bietet uns sogar noch zusätzlichen  Schutz gegen Untote, die ja auch immahin bald ~1/3 aller Monster ausmachen.
Nachteile:
Da wir selber viel am hin und herrennen sind, rennt unsere Rogue noch viel mehr als sonst und schiesst noch seltener, wenn sie aba erstma ne gescheite Schussposition gefunden hat, gehts rund. Blöde KI halt ^^
und dadurch das sie nich oft nah an Monstern steht, kommt HF und Conv mit ihrer arg Begrenzten Reichweite nich imma voll zur Geltung.

Es gibt da bestimmt auch noch andere zusammenstellungen, aba die erscheint mir am sinnvollsten, aba ich bin auch net ganz fit, was Rogues angeht, hab da noch nie viele von gehabt, doch wenn, waren die sehr robust ^^

Der WüstenSohn: Mein persönlicher Liebling ;)
Mit HF von Haus aus und auch ner Infinitystange, aber auchn Machter mit ner Doomwaffe oda n Freezer mit ner lastwish-Waffe wär denkbar, je nach Vorliebe
Vorteile: ganz klar, wir haben einene weiteren Blocker, der uns die Monster vom Hals hält und dwir leben dadurch sicherer. Jetzt nach Fixung des Lifebugs, sollte er auch ein wenig mehr aushalten. Auch kommen hier die kurzreichweitigen Auren zur Wirkung, da er meist imma an den Monstern steht.
Nachteile: Er hat ne ganz, ganz mit Hit Recovery. ergo wenn er ma gestunnt wird, issa so gut wie tot, es sei denn man läuftn Stück zurück und füttert ihn mit Pots, dann hat man doch noch den hauch einer Chance ^^. N bissl FHR aufm Equip macht sich da bestimmt dann auch hübsch.
In Gebieten mit vielen fiesen Skelletarchern kann man ihn an sich auch vergessen, da er dann wohl eher tot iss, bevor er den Gegner erreicht, und wenn er ihn doch erreicht hat er keen Leech, was der tot eines jeden Söldners ist. Es sei denn, man schaltet sie vorher aus. ;)
Und er ist ebenso stark anfällig gegen IM!

Alles in allen ein netter Weggefährte, der aba doch hin und wieder ein wenig zuwendung udn aufmerksamkeit brauch, damit er net sofort verreckt ;) In Party und mit BO/Oak wird er aba doch fast unkaputtbar. Meiner ging imma nur in nem Haufen Hexen zu Grunde, da er das Dauerfeuer net wirklich mochte.

Der A5söldner aus Alp/Hell:
Mit Conv von haus aus und HF über RInge/Waffe und sonstigen Lustigen Auren ala Might, Conz.
Vorteile: EIn dicker, stinkender, Grunzender Blocker, der Einzelgegner stunnen kann und nach Fixung des Lifebugs doch wieder zu was zu gebrauchen kann. Eigentlich sollte er sogar mehr Life haben als die Wüstensähne. Er zudem noch eine höhere natürliche Lifereplenisch und ne Schneller Hit Recovery, was ihn eigentlich zu nem guten Blocker macht. Auch lässt sie die Convaura auch über +allskills steigern, was sich aba klaum lohnt, da wir sie wenn eh nur zum Immunitäten brechen brauchen. Wir haben auch so schon ordentlich -% Blitzres an bord.
Nachteile:
Genauso wie sein Kollege aus A2 issa schon tot, wenn man nur das IM Fluchgeräusch hört. Wer da nich fix iss, darf wieder erstma 50k Gold berappen ^^ er mag ebensowenig fiese unleechable Archer. Uff und mehr fällt mir da grad net zu ein.

Ergo doch ein gut zu gebrauchender Begleiter udn wenn man auf Conv verzichten Mag wär vllt einer mit Trotz zu überlegen, um ihn weniger anfällig gegen Physangriffe zu machen, aba ich wees net, ob man da nach der defreduzierung noch weit mit kommt.

Der A3 Söldner.

Da hab ioch in höheren Lvls überhaupt keene Erfahrung mit, könnt mir aba vorstellen, das sich son Kältesäldner sich doch noch zum Freezen und Slowen  eignet, aba da lass cih gern jemand mit mehr erfahrung den Vortritt.
Auf Norm eignet sich prima ab A3 ein Pyromane, wenn die eigenen Skills noch net alzuhoch sind, um den Killspeed doch ordentlich zu erhöhen. ^^

Zum Weiteren Equip der Söldner ausser A3:

Spezielle Angaben habsch da net, aba was jeder Söli mag iss Res, Life, %Life, LL, IAS,dam% Reduce, FRW, def, skills.
So ungefähr in der Reihenfolge.
So könnte man dem Söldner dann auch Humility anziehen udn man selbst auf CoH oda sowas zurückgreifen, aba bei Tot des Söldners sieht man dann auch gleich blöd aus ^^" Aba da überlass ich jedem selber n bissl Fantasie, weils sonst wärs ja langweilig, wenn jeder schon weiss was er anziehen muss :P

Ich hoffe ich konnte ein wenig Licht ins Dunkel bringen und dhab net nur Blödfug verzapft ^^"

Wenn mir noch wsas einfällt meld ich mich. ^^

Edit: @Jaws: Meinst Corruption Coils? wär net alternative, aba ich denk nur für SC. Mir in HC wär das Lifedrain, bei dem wenigen Life einer Ama zu gefährlich und nein ich hab keene Tonnen von Odgens ^^

Hm A3 Söldner dürfte selbst auf Hell eigentlich noch ganz ordentlich Dam machen. Wird ja doch öfter mal empfohlen für Builds die noch n element brauchen.
Und freezen tut wahrscheinlich kein anderer Söldner so gut wie der (Ich sag nur Gletschernadel Fullfreeze oO).

In der letzten Ladder hatte ich eine auf level60 HC, aber dann war reset. Jetzt fang ich grad ne neue an, die level15 ist.

Der Schaden von ChS ist, najaaaa, fies, böse und gemein. Wer ne Java spielt mit ChS weiß das ja. Rechnerisch gesehen kommt man mit mittleren Items auf ~0,2Mill maximaler Blitzschaden die Sekunde , wenn jeder Bolzen trifft (-%Resi eingerechnet), das hört sich erstmal viel an, aber man muss halt auch bedenken, dass man halt nicht in den Monstern stehen kann. Den physischen Schaden kann ich jetzt nicht ganz vorraussagen, aber halt so einiges auflisten; Rohling 200%ed (mal so einfach^_^), RW bis zu 450%ed, 2x blood 500%ed, beide Masteries (da kommts aufs level an)
Hier mal die IAS-Werte für den Matriarchenspeer:
0 %   15   1.6
9 %   14   1.7
18 %   13   1.9
30 %   12   2
48 %   11   2.2
75 %   10   2.5
125 %   9   2.7

ich hab im SP mal mit dem jupiter Wurfspeer den Dmg getestet... Man kommt locker auf 6k+ mit Jab und das kann man noch *2 nehmen, da man so gut wie immer CS bekommt.. Weiterhin hat Jab ne Mords geschwindigkeit, sodass man locker sagen kann, dass ein Schaden von 50k die sec nicht auszuschließen ist :)

mhmmm iss eigentlich das CS vom Skill CS dasgleiche CS wie das von der Mastery und addiert sich das? Wenn ja kommt man ja spielend auf 100% und man kann sie jedweges DS aufm Equip sparen. ^^

Also die 125 IAS Grenze würde ich auf jeden Fall anpeilen, wenn nicht sogar die 174er. Könnte man wahrscheinlich lässig mit fana (merc oder so) machen.

Hm...Mit dem CS das ist ne gute Frage. Schwierig zu beantworten, weil wohl die wenigsten wissen, wie der intern behandelt wird. Ich mutmaße einfach mal, dass sich beides addiert, aber es könnte natürlich auch wie bei DS sein....

Ich würde auch sagen, dass es additiv ist... setzen wir mal ein :)

(gehe mal von 22; 22; und 60 % aus.... dazu Todschlag 20 % von Waff)
ddam = 110+(20/100*(100-110))
ddam = 108 (gesunken Oo)

Denke aber, dass es bei 95% gecapt wird :)

Nja DS interessiert ja auch nur 2. Rangig

Wenn sich das CS von allen SKills einfach addiert, kommen wir doch recht einfach über 100% oda recht nahe dran und dann könnma uns das auf Equip sparen.
Und CS/DS als auch CB werden nich bei 95% gecappt. Wenn man 100% hat wirksts einfach immer und mehr iss wirkungslos.

Thanks for the guide, Aleksa.

One point to recommend: the Venom skill available as a teddy skill (and possibly other means unknown to me) to cover the multitude of PI/LI monsters.  Perhaps this is not as vital as the Spear Mastery puppet skill you mention.

Question 1: Does the (new with 7.60) "Amazon Spear Mastery" fill the need that the teddy skill meets?

Question 2: You indicate Lightning Fury is unusable: is this only because of the 2-handed specialty of this build/guide, or does it arise from code-level problems like Fend has?

Question 3: Since Humility is a level 95 rune-word (at least the one I saw was) what is the best/preferred rw for armor before this level? CoH or Lionheart or ?

Question 4: With her "sharpened flag-pole" on one side, what weapon/shield combination goes on the other?  What skills are used there?  I'm wondering if this other weapon set should be where CtA is put, and also what to use against PI/LI monsters (cold/fire/poison/magic damage).

Humility is lvl 86. The one you saw was probably socketed in an armor upped with a mod doll. Before humility: just take what seems most necessary. I think coh should do.

You can also use the Broodwar-Client for +5Spearmastery which is different from your own amazon spear mastery but also work with character-specific amazon spears (both do NOT work with any kind of javelins!) Here you list up a problem which is hard to handle with this kind of amazon. 1. Use "nightshade"(grand unique charm which is dropped very often!) for piercing light-immunities and physical immunities. 2. Use Venom from your Teddy if you got a deadhc-doll. 3. Pierce immunities with your imperial belt (max. -100%enemy lightresi) + Conv-Aura from Merc + Rainbow-Facets + Lower Resistance from dollstash + any idea for -%enemy light-resi. 4. Use your party, you will need a party anyway ^_^

I hop i was able to help out and thanks for feedback for my "to do"-list.

No. LF/Lighting Fury does only work with javelins and not with two-handed spears.
