« on: June 14, 2005, 10:20:37 pm »
Every time I click to activate, and choose yes Diablo II is closed, I get a message saying "Missing File !           Chaos Empire.ce" Could anyone please tell me how I can fix this?

I had this problem as well and it _appears_ to have something to so with the fact that the original D2 installation puts everything in a directory called 'Diablo II'. I think that it's the blank in this directory that causes the problem.

If you're unhappy playing around with the registry, then uninstall everything and make sure that the new install doesn't have a blank in any directory name. Otherwise, remove the blank, and change the registry entries to match.

Hope this helps

I have a slightly different problem. When I have copied the 7.59 files into my Diablo II folder and try to run it, it claims that patch_d2.mpq is corrupt, and refuses to start. When i repair it from the 110_ORG folder it works, and when i install 7.55 it works. any ideas, anyone?

Yes, try to play with your version 7.55 and look on the ingame map. If it shows version 7.51 its definitly the defective version from the first 24hours after releasing. Then you have to reload the corrected version 7.55 you can find it by clicking the download button at the menu in this forum.

Or you look in the thread called installationissues in my signature. There you find a link and instructions for the installation.

You have to deactivate and deinstallat your old version before installing the fixed one.
