I've been trying to socket rare (yellow) necro wands with 6 sockets using 12 pgems but only can manage to get 2 sockets out of it, can wands have that many sockets or am i doing something wrong?

any feedback is welcome

thanks

P.S. Chaos, great mod man, can't stay off it.

items can only have so many sockets as they need places in your stash (Edit: as the maximum, they can have less, e.g. based on item quality). Necro wands need 2 places so max 2 sockets.

wands, yew wands, and polished wands can only get 1 socket.  It's a limit of the base item type.

Armor and weapons with a low item number may get fewer than the max number for the base item type.

The above (per my memory from D2LOD) are subject to change in this mod, so keep asking around.

As d2wissen.de is totally in German you might want to have a look at the English list on  DiabloII.net
