Game Crashes When Changing Acts

I just beat Act 1, but when I try to move on to Act 2, the game freezes at the loading screen and when I minimize it, an error pops up.  Anyone know of a way to fix this?

The error is this:

UNHANDLED EXCEPTION:
ACCESS_VIOLATION (c0000005)

Reinstalled 3 seperate times and the problem won't go away.  :heul:

do you play fullscreen or windowed

do you have video files installed or not.

i remember crashes like this depending on mode and video files

I've tried it with and without video files installed.  Haven't tried switching to windowed mode yet, so I'll give that a shot.

Edit: Just tried windowed mode...I get the same error. :(

did you also reinstall D2 and did you delete the diablo II folder before reinstalling?

do u have an installed soundcard? that was the problem with the pc of my brother, cause it wasnt installed the game crashed when he chagend an act for quest

after you deinstalled diablo you must cleared the registry too,you must search for  battle.net   blizzard entertainment and    chaosempire    and delete all files in that ordnern(don't know this word in englis)

It appears to be fixed.  I think the problem was that I start the game with the -ns parameter. :)  Thanks for the help everyone!
