Error starting game...HELP

Here is an error I am receiving while trying to start the game: CD-ROM drive error. Diablo II was unable to find Game.exe. Please make sure your application is correctly installed, and that your Expansion Disc is in your CD_ROM drive, and try again. Then another window comes up saying: Error Starting program The D2LANG.DLL file is linked to missing export STORM.DLL:904.

Ok, I uninstalled and deleted everything associated with Diablo. I re-installed, including LOD, then the 110 patch (I tried first with the 110s with the same results). Then I ran the new 750. The activation was succesful!

The CD-ROM I am trying to start the game with is a CD-burner, but I get the same error with my DVD-ROM.

P.S. I am using Windows ME.

Did u add the Patch 7.51a? Unzip and copy with activated mod and D2 closed in game folder.

If this doesn't work try the repair.bat (please search forum for this thread)

Wow, thanks for the fast reply!.
Ok, I unzipped and ran 7.51a, same error message.
I then copied the repair.bat file into my diablo directory, ran it (I saw a bad command or file name at the end), re-ran the program, same results.

Did u reinstall patch after repair.bat?

Maybe if still doesn't work...

Have u ever been able to play CE? U may need to install CE with all options... (original Lod files option)
Make sure to put cd into drive the one u installed from.

Ok, I ran the 110s patch succesfully, started the game. Then after the create character screen I got an unauthorized exception error.

I was able to run CE a while back (I think it was ver 7.15).

Oops, that was an unhandled exception error.

To me this rather sounds like a problem with your D2 installation than with CE.

And i meant the CE Patches after repair.bat.

Might want to consider a complete reinstall, in the Order:

D2 -> 1.10 -> CE 7.50 -> activate -> 7.51a

At some Point during reinstallation u may need to Delete contents of your DATA folder. Please read each readme.txt supplied with CE Patches.

do u use any no-cs-crack, hacks, cheats or loaders?

maybee u have other mods installed?

I do not use any of the following: no-cs-crack, hacks, cheats or loaders.

The loader I use is the shortcut to play CE created in the CE directory.

No other mods are installed, this is a fresh install.

Which update 110 or 110s? Maybe this is my problem.

the shortcut is alright, with loader we mean a program with modified d2gfx.dll i think where you can start d2 more than once and that is forbidden but if you don't use it thats not the problem obviously :)

what do you mean with 110s... there was only one patch 1.10 and no "s" version Oo

you need released 1.10
not any of the both old beta versions like 110s

My problem was that I was using an older, beta version of the 1.10 patch!
