Another corrupted file...

Re-installed D2 after a good 18 months away. Got the 7.69 mod, and the 7.70 zip file. Installed both, tried to run it, and it says that chaosempire.mpq is corrupted. Really getting tired of the error messages associated with this mod. Sad thing is, there isn't any other mods out there that are maintained that work properly (New Dawn X still has the bugged potions that don't work, and Zy-El is far more of a pain in the neck in the beginning than it needs to be). I'm tired of uninstalling and reinstalling the game, I've done it six times in the last two days, trying to get a working mod, and it's still not happening.

The question is, what's the fix for this, other than uninstalling and reinstalling?

first)  deinstall the mod

second)  extract this and overwrite the files.

Now you have a clean Diablo Lod 1.10. When you want to patch this to 1.12a go to bnet or use a patch.


third ) Now install Diablo 7.69and activate it.

Extract the 7.70a and overwrite the files.


Maybe a mod file is corrupted ...

Well, it took three tries, but I finally have a working version. Just one thing that puzzles me a bit. I never did find the Scroll of Inifuss. Is that only obtainable by the Cube in this? Never did find anything specific on it in the readme... another thing is that I'm at Tal-Rasha's Tomb right now, but I'm still missing Cube. Is there a way to combine stuff to make it? Or will I have to restart and farm the area again until it comes around as a loot drop?

(Edit: I had mentioned that Thul runes and higher couldn't be combined. Well, if I had looked a little closer, I would have seen that you needed one more thing to do it. :BangHead: Sometimes I'm an idiot...)

Just went through the Dungeon, after defeating Nihlatak last night. Started it at about 11PM my time... didn't finish it until almost 4AM. Yeesh... :)

For some reason, I can't get into the Labyrinth. I have the two pieces needed for it, but it doesn't cube anywhere, not in town or outside of it.

you need to do the baal quest to be able to open the labby

you cant open the labby in the same difficulty when you have kiled the king once

you cnt open the labby with a book or a damian word which is red (poc words becoed red in lr)    <- i guess^^

If they are declared as quest items, they get a property 'QuestDifficulty'. If the QuestDifficulty is lower than the difficulty you are in, they become red and are unusable. Questitems from higher difficulties are no problem.
