CE Problems: Bnet / Act-Based Words
« on: August 21, 2007, 12:49:58 pm »
Ok, so i've been playing around with CE 768, and I've just got a few questions

throughout act 1 and 2, I've been finding these 'unique word items'. I know you need them for regular quest item combinations, BUT, for the heradric staff, I've got everything but the word "other(s)" I have "Cube" "me" "with" "the" and both the staff parts... Who/where do I get "others" ?

Another thing is I can't seem to get onto the multiplayer. I try to connect but I keep getting an error saying invalid version (same message as Bnet would show if it cant ID the version) What am I doing wrong?

The word "others" drops from Kaa (the soulless?) in one of the 6 wrong tombs in act2.

I installed D2 / LoD normally, patched it via B-net . Then Installed CE and did the whole 'activate' thing. after that I unzipped 768 from the zip into the Diablo 2 directory...
No other mods installed

Do you chose the right realm (Gateway Chaos Empire) and can enter it. I can enter the serverchannel with any version of Diablo2 (even with other mods).
Do you use a router or firewall? Possibly you have to open some ports.

There's the problem then..... I dont see GateWay Chaos Empire.... I only see the standart 4 Bnet gateways....
what did I do wrong?

You can manually import those gateways into your D2 with the ceRealm.reg from the Download section.

Running linux it is a bit confusing at the moment... I use cedega, and everything seems to work fine... the ceRealm.reg is in the Diablo 2 folder, but it does not seem to want to recognize the CE gateway.

Should I 'inject' the contents of ceRealm.reg in the user.reg file in the Diablo 2 section of .cedega, or is the file meant to be in the core Diablo 2 folder (where the data and .exe are)

EDIT: N/M problem solved.... just injected the reg into wine's regedit, then copied the user.reg from wine into cedega, works now =D
