Does CE work software work on Macintosh computers?

My boyfriend and I got our own apartment, and he has a mac (newer). He got some kind of a patch or something to make the expansion run on osx operating system, but I'm not sure if Chaos Empire is compatible with macintosh. Does anybody know?

As far as i know this Mod won´t work with the Macintosh Version of Diablo2 because there are some differences in the Diablo2 files and so the changes don´t apply. ;(

no chance, cause CE uses much CE (Code Editing)..so the "hacked" DLLs wont work on Mac
But if it is a newer Mac it has an INTEL Processor..so it will be able to use windows too :P

If he has a newer intel mac or gets a software( How do I say this?) There was a program the let windows programs run on a mac.

I think your best bet is the newer intel mac's.
If he runs the expansion LOD, try & see if ce loads,,,
If it don't work, most he would have to do is reinstall D2 LOD Expansion....

It runs LOD fine. Actually, a bit more efficiently than my pc does. But the computer isn't new enough for an intel processor. When we have the money, I'll eventually get a pc, but since we just moved, we're broke.

This "software" is an windows emulator, and i don't know anything about mac, but maybe there is a software like this. There are some of these windows emulators for linux, one of them is the "wine". If there are any emulators like wine for mac, maybe you have a chance Jenocyde ^^

you can emulate Windows with a software like Virtual PC or VMware on a mac but i disbelieve that the performance is high enough to play CE on a virtual machine

in virtual machines yo normally dont have graphic acceleration..so only window mode could work...really slowly..

Well, i got a friend that plays diablo 2:lod and counter strike through wine in his linux, and both run very well, windowed or not.

I'm gonna give it a try...nothing to lose. When we get our tax returns, we might get a newer mac with an intel processor.
