Problems Activating 7.65

Winnipegseas  I think I see the problem. I had something very simliar happen when I tried to upgrade. I think when you connected to battlenet to download the patch it downloaded the 1.11 patch.   I couldnt get CE7.65 to run with the 1.11 installed.

I think if you reinstall Diablo and LOD  then you should try getting the 1.10 patch from the Blizzard patches Chaos site here,

Make sure you dont have a data dir in Diablo II

then save the 7.65 patch with the sp2  to your hard drive and then run the file.

You should be able to activate it and play.  It worked for me doing it in that order.

@WinnipegSeas Beschädtigt  probably means "corrupted"  (bad download).

Quite probably, your ISP won't allow a mail file over 1MB in size, we're talking about an 85MB file.

@DrowElf, Chaos says "Keep sure, that you have a patch.txt in your D2-Folder."

How does that file get into a directory on a clean install?

@GodEmperor: Chaos says all blizzard versions up to 1.11b are supported...

"@GodEmperor: Chaos says all blizzard versions up to 1.11b are supported..."

I know Chaos said it works from like LOD Version 1.07 to 1.11b, i was just relaying what worked for me on one of the computers I play CE on.  Since I had a bit of trouble getting it to work properly.

winnipegseas:
Ive downloaded and re-downloaded CE 7.65 with SP2 included 5+ times now, so is it a courrupted file every time I download it?

I'm sorry, I dont understand computer stuff... What does ISP mean?

The patch.txt got into the directory on a clean install by installing and patching D2 LoD.

I am not upgrading from any previous versions, I am starting at CE 7.65.

Also, before I reinstalled D2, LoD, and CE, I was using the patch 1.10, which failed.

The Data dir was only in the D2 directory after I ran CE 765.

ISP =  Internet service provider.  It's quite common for emails to be limited in size.  typically 2 meg is the max size allowable for emails.

hmmm  Wish I could help.

dumb question...  are you sure you actually uninstalled everything and deleted any excess files that might of been sitting in the DiabloII folder?   Maybe that's the problem

edit...   try saving the file to a different location.  Your browser may not be refreshing the download correctly.  You might also try rebooting   then reinstalling.
