Yup, I tried reinstalling D2 and LoD completely. The strangest thing is that my computer is very similar to my brothers, and he got CE to run just fine with the new fix.
So my options at the moment are to run CE without the fix, and not be able to join/create CCC games, or install the fix and not be able to use CE at all....

wow....i tried out the original d2 again...omgoodness, it's extremely too easy.., the inv and stash size i now realize are soooo small, and now i can actually kill stuff in one hit....it's irratatingly easy, i miss using CE....
