new europe banning
« on: March 29, 2005, 08:37:20 pm »
apparently something happened with the asia realm, and some people somehow found out how to hack the game.  well eventually, this caught over to the europe realm, and now...i have to download something?, and europe isn't avalible.  i've downloaded the port7502.zip and have done as needed but...the game will begin to load as usual but right at the time it goes to show the videos, right in that second the game just vanishes, and i'm left with what i had before i tried to open d2.  i've added what was needed to the regestry, but i'm not sure what's going on, i'm posotive i did it all right, it worked perfectly before i had replaced these files with the port ones, so..i'm not sure what to do.

the reg file is not needed, it is only the actual one

and only chaosempire and d2net dlls must be changed...

dont forget to change your router/firewall settings from port 7501 to 7502

I'm having this exact problem...the game will load to about the main menu, then suddenly completely close and vanish. The game functioned with just the 7.51 patch, it just wouldn't let me join/create games....and I have no idea how to change the port number....

Well, it's pretty early in the morning in Germany and a lot of the countries where
the really CE knowledgable people are. I figure it'll be around...uh....5 or 6 hours or so at least.

Despite everything I've tried, CE still crashes to the desktop instantly when loaded...I doubt it's a port issue, since it won't even let me get into single player.

yeah, my point it just plain and simply won't start, i've no clue what's wrong with it, i'll either have to wait until the next upgrade for CE or just.....give up the mod completely..

Normaly, if you haven't made changes on your Router bevor, you don't need to change something now. Its only nessacairy to open Ports, if you want to play Open B-Net.

Have you tried reinstalling seibzahn...
and qoucher r u having exact problem or will it not load at all... if it wont load at all it sounds like u use loader or something.. they not allowed on CE

it sounds exactly like a loader, but i'm not using one...it worked perfectly before this file change, is what i'm saying and now, it's just not wanting to open d2
