Topic: Has the Nova sorc been nerfed?

Hello,

I haven't played since last summer in 2005 and I played a nova sorc. Now that I feel like playing again and I was looking at the patch information saying that nova skills have been "resynched". does this mean they have been nerfed? I want to know before I start playing a nova sorc and find out that she's useless in hell mode.

no, some synergies have been removed, therefore the syn % of rest has been increased

So the nova sorc is still good right? it hasn't been weakened? I thought it was perfect before

Im playing a nova/frost nova sorc now.   All it means is instead of needing warmth and a few other skill to increase dmg of novas you only need the novas now freeing up skills to create a more creative build.   It also means the Nova sorc guide is nolonger valid ^.^

They are fun to play but have a hard time starting off without good equipment (about lv 14+ it gets very easy).

Warmth is still a great skill...

Do the novas do the same amt of damage as before btw?

Now that warmth no longer needs to be maxed, what's a good skill to max instead? I'm thinking atm Ice nova/lightning nova/tempest and something else... what do you suggest?

nova/tempest? not familiar with that skill but then again the skills change names from english/german.   We need a skill name translation for character guides..... *gets the feeling drow-elf will ask her to do this sometime in the near future* 

Anyway  wouldn't suggest going more than two separate types of elements.  Just stick with enchant if you really want to do fire damage and then just put that on your mercenary (unless you are a suicide sorc and go melee *anti-melee sorc flame backlash shield engaged* - don't hurt me >,<) 

Really depends on your playing style and how easy is it for you to obtain decent to top tier quality items (not Uber items).

I can probably get top tier items very quickly.

But what about warmth for mana regain? Won't I need that?

If you bother putting points into ENERGY, sorc's really don't have any mana problems.  Also most spell casting sorc items have +mana regen of 75%+ making warmth pointless (okay 1 point if you want enchant).  And most gear gives +skill so warmth will go up naturally on top of the mana regen items. 

Basically blue orb (or goblin or whatever that thing is lol) will rarely go down unless you have mana shield, then kiss it good bye if you let baddies hit you.
