Topic: Server downtime

Hi ALl

frontend has some issues

so we need to restart it complety

during this time i also do the asia realm reset
and it seems that i have another hdd issue, so i need to reboot complete system and check the disk..

probably a downtime of 1-2hours..hopefully only a few minutes..

i will do the hdd check later, cause a temporarily issue is gone into air

and on the fly scanning of hdd in linux..i never will do again...

I don't know of any operating system that allows on-the-fly checking of a mounted/busy hard-drive, excepting badblocks which does have a non-destructive read-only checking mode.

The closest I've heard of to this (that gives the drive a thorough check) is a RAID-5 system where you can replace a single physical drive (power-cycle if it's not hot-swap) and check the 'yanked' drive off-line at your leisure as thoroughly as needed.

die festplatte hat stress gemacht, also wurde die hardware rebootet, und geprüft
(noch nciht ausgetauscht)
ein image erstellt

danach hatt eich wegen uebermuedung probleme mit dem reboot..weil man sollte keinen kernel austauschen, wenn ma nnciht 100% wach ist

der provider hat in der nacht natuerlioch nicht die besetzung wie am tage, und daher hat es ~1h gedauert, bis das problem behoben war
als dann alles leif
bin ich ins bett
hab aber bergessen den gameserver zu starten

ich gehe aber davon aus, das alle nun hier im forum taeglich lesen, und im idealfall auch schreiben

denn die commnity lebt genau davon, und mehr erwarte ich nicht dafuer das ihr hier ohne gebuehren spielen duerft
spendne duerft ihr natuerlich gerne...aber genauso gern duerft ihr einen sponsoren an land ziehen
