i installed diablo II 1.11 patch so i could play reg diablo II for a lil, but now i want to go back to chaos empire. How can i down-grade my regular diablo II so that i have patch 1.10 again so CE works, and when(/is) is chaos coming out with a CE that works with 1.11?

i am not sure if you can downgrade your lod installation i am afraid you have to reinstall it...

You can make a separate installation of 1.07 (from your CDs) then get the 1.10 patch in that installation.

Playing on battle.net with the (current) 1.11 is then compatible with playing CE with the 1.10 patch in the new installation directory.

(of course you must install the CE Mod 7.55 into the1.10 directory, then activate, then put the 7.60c patch on top.)

ive tried installing diablo II to a different directory a while ago but i couldnt figure out how, when i put in the install disc it says its already installed. How can i go about installing it again?

heh, k thanks ill try it...actually i think i might have one installed already....thanks for your help guys.ok new problem....in the new folder i had to rename to diablo II because 7.55 only installs to a certain folder...w/e...but any way i install it and when i go to activate it, it says its missing anticheat.dll.....
which is in the folder....can i fix this so it works? i tried reinstalling it 4 times, should i redownload it?

ok whatever forget it, im just gonna uninstall and reinstall diablo II, maybe that will work...

For the Errormessage "missing file ....ce" you can look in the thread at my signature called Installation-Problems?.

But i think the cleanest way is to deinstall all versions of d2 on your harddisk, delete the folders (after possible sp save game storing at any other folder).

Then when you have installed Diablo2 and Lord of Destruction, you make a copy of your Diablo2 Folder (as example name it d2-ce). Then you can normally connect to b-net for the 1.11 patch.

To play ChaosEmpire you now rename your d2 with 1.11 to d2-111 and rename the d2-ce Folder to d2. Now you can normally patch this version to 1.10 and install ChaosEmpire 7.55 - activate - Update to 7.60c.

I cannot tell if you mean that we should hope to be adapted to 1.11 or that we should live in hope to never migrate onto 1.11...

If this matter were up for public discussion, I'd vote to adopt the rune words but dump the quest/monster add-ons.

ChaosEmpire can´t migrate to 1.11 (at this time).

There were several code edits that can´t made again.

A addiontal reason is that no serverversion of 1.11 is available.

You can see a public discussion can´t change the reasons.
