I really have nothing to suggest content wise, and to tell the truth, I forgot what I wanted one for. But the fact remains that it's still a good idea.

That is a great idea! But Joe (chaos) has enough on his mind already and the workload he does now... well I don't know how he does it all alone.
Maybe from this topic, somebody and Joe can discuss a newsletter and joe can let that person design and put in info that joe wants in (as well as some other fun things to entice people to visit forums and ccc more) with joe's final approval before being sent out?
It should contain (the newsletter)
Player standouts/shoutouts for interesting things.
Information on upcoming events
Information on directions CE is headed
Information on game backstory
Pics of interesting things in CE
A mini CE oriented satire web comic (like 8-bit theatre)
Basically designing it like "Dragon Magazine" in a nut shell.

hm i don't think that is a great idea, because in the past if joe wanted to do something right he did it himself (with a few exceptions such as the itemlist, the dolls and doll stash....)
and also i don't see the point of the whole thing
if something new comes up there are news here in the forum
in what direction CE is heading even joe doesn't always know :)
and if he does he doesn't want the community to know in some cases^^
upcoming events are also announced in the forum
you see where i am going? it would just be a lot of work for stuff that's all already in the forum, also i don't think such a newsletter would be appreciated much by the biggest part of the community

Well my point was, I know chaos is very busy and this would have to be something someone else did for him so all he would have to do is read it and say (good send it or remove this and its perfect etc) basically playing editor. Not much work on his part and nothing goes in it or is sent out without joes final say so.
But you can add things to a news letter you couldnt do here in the forum and it could work as a tool to get more users to visit forums or just learn about CE (as with forum you have to search for many different topics, in a news letter they are all in one place)
