Title: Your Connection Has Been Interrupted....
Post by: Darkkatgirl on April 10, 2006, 06:29:37 pm
For the past few days I have been getting this error message "Your Connection Has Been Interrupted" after 2 min in a new game.  I can finally join a game and stay in it usually after 8 tries (if im lucky) but within 20 minutes im dropped with that error again.  This has never happened to me before on CCC, and I play at about the same times.  Im not the only one who is being hit with bad server connections lately.

Does anyone know what exactly is going on?

This is becoming more and more frequent.   Its happening at all times of the day now and not just to americans, people who live in north germany (i think north germany), Hamburg? Get worse drops (and crash to desktop) than I do.

Does anyone know what is going on with the euroservers?

Next time it happens ill get you the server name (name that pops up when I join a game) and time of drop.  I don't know if its from max players,  It has happened when there have been hardly anyone one (very late night/early morning for germany).

Is there any other info you need that could be of use CE?

Suggest: a log of
Time joined, game name, server name, time dropped.

If this is happening 10 times in a day (as I have had happen) you might find that things are fine on CE's end, and your PC's power supply is failing by inches.  OTOH CE might be problem-free, your system is fine, and the Int'l ISPs are dropping packets.  We'd know these things when your log and mine were both reviewed.  Since it Tax Season here in the States, I'll be a bit busy for the next week.

@darkkatgirl

What type of isp you use?

dial-up, DSL or broadband ?

With dial-up you will always have dropped conection isues. ???

The others would have max usage issues.

I had a spell of frequent YCHBI events.  Removal and re-installation of D2/LOD/CE cured it.
Edit: That was yesterday.  Twice, today, I had an YHCBI event, immediately after which I could create a new game of exactly the same name (a4qpoc).  This indicates that the game had crashed on the server end.
*sigh*

@ Web

What does it mean if it crashes on servers end?  Too many people online?

Possible reasons for server-side game crash:
Hardware faults (bad RAM or hard drive or network card etc)
Power Supply glitch
Some resource exhausted (as in too many games or players)
Server side machine got a virus... (not likely but...)
Joe just got mad and started killing games (this didn't happen!)
