I think, when the Realm goes down for maintenance this evening, that the Realm should be rolled back to the last day of 7.64.

no chance :P
this means 5day char ollback, and rollback of my work from last >2month

Tell me how I can help figure things out...
it seems (from looking at the S_2 download and my D2LOD directory) that SP2 got new files this afternoon, but kept the same name...

...or did I just mis-install SP2 before?

there has been only one sp2 version online-
d2game.dll for increased gamble amount, chaosempire.dll to keep all secet and ce.mpq..rest txt

Today I attempted to mule an item to give it away.  Trang's Belt.  Accomplishment took 2 hours due to games chrashing and requiring client reboot and client reboot crash-hang requiring power-off/power/on.

Next muling attempt took a few moments, it went well.

The next muling attempt failed, game crashed and hung, resulting in loss of a Crest of Avalon (3PDiamon), Peacemaker, Autumn Avatar, and another good (not unique) charm.
I will continue hoping things get better, and I'll continue wishing to know how to help things get better.
