I know that, the mod itself does the whole check for hacks thing, but what i am wondering, is, if it is possible to actually bump up the resolution of the game to be more then 800x600?
Taken into account, I am not asking for new textures, but rather, a larger screen.
I am a linux user, and running the game in windowed mode through Cedega and/or Wine, a screen that's 800x600 is rather bad (seeing as alt-tabbing otherwise cause the desktop to freak out and do bad things)
Having said all that. Would it be possible to incorporate one of the other mods that allow for higher resolutions, into CE?

asks the othe rmods for merpission and instructions, i dont believe that it will work

Try running out of window mode..
If you can, your whole screen will be used. You will still be stuck using the two resolutions supported.
I seem to remember someone doing it in a Linux distro, and posted on CE forum.
Did you try searching the web? (Google) bdpf :diablo:

Sadly, I cannot run it stably at all, in fullscreen. For some odd reason, it does not seem to want me running it at fullscreen at all... with lockups and crashes to x-server. I've done all I can to see what the problem is, fiddling with both settings and drivers, but unfortunately, still the same.

It was posted here on CE the forms.
A person was running Diablo2 LOD with a Linux Distro.
Could X-server be the problem?
Try posting to your Linux Distro help forums or Linux gaming form.
Sadly my motherboard will not support the required ram for me to run a virtual box, wine with XP & Diablo. Plus video card old & moldy.

:diablo:@vladesnakedragon & @joe too!
Found this link on reddit.com...
http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/93mmw/here_is_a_mod_that_lets_you_play_diablo_2_at_any/
self.gaming site was also shown....
Scanning the comments, leads me to believe they might be a cracks!
The link, links to to Ah, utilities that deal with resolution problems & Diablo 2.
It might be worth a look.
I have not tried them so, try them at your own risk! ! ! !
They might trip the anti-cheat component of the CE Mod.
Maybe Joe can have a look & let you know.

The :s513: made me do it!

i like to look, but the file is only for a clean 1.12 d2 version, not for a 1.10based one..and it may interfere, if available, with the huge amount of code changes in ce

@Joe
I just saw the links and thought you should take a look.

Play Windows games on Linux with Crossover
http://digg.com/d3ydsv
The above is link to article. It is about the Linux app Crossover, the commercial version of Wine.
If you still have issues with resolution you should read and check out the two apps.
I just ran across it and wish you luck.
Be sure to post how your doing with your problem.

Cedega is the best program to use in linux, if I remember right Crossover was the old name for Cedega. I used Cedega to play on linux, and if I remember right, using the Glide wrapper was necessary. Been a while though, so not sure about that. On a side note though, it ran more stable in Ubuntu and Suse with Cedega, than it runs in Windows Vista

@northernpaladin
Do you remember the system you had or the requirements?
I'm running a AMD 1.2 ghz with a geg of ram & XP Pro. Video card is an old ragpro 128
I would love to run Diablo2 LOD & CE with Ubuntu. 8.4 or what ever will work.
Yes I know its an old tired box. Money is tight.
thanks :wece:

I'd just love to run this in something bigger than 800x600. :)

ask the coder of this program to modify it for lod 1.10, maybe then there will be a chance to work with ce
