Title: Bonemancer guide?
Post by: szenhidrat2 on February 23, 2009, 09:28:36 am
Hi!

I want to start a bonemancer but i found only a 7.16 guide for it. My question is is it viable to make a bm in 7.70 and where can i find a guide for it. Thanks

well than there isnt a guide^^

bonemancer with golems works ok. Not the mass killer like a bow barb/foh pala/bu sorc but it doesn't have too big problms with immun enemies.
just skill bone and than golems :)
equipment: as many skills as possible, but resis should be 95%
merc: a5 lr (conviction)
stats: a firegolem lvl 100 costs 1040 mana so you will need a lot of it. (i stated 50% life 50% energy and its still emty all the time)

alternative to the bone would be the poison tree, does more damage but has also more problems with the immun enemies.
equipment for that: also as many skills as possible but items with +%poison damage or -% enemy poison resistance are even more important (TO gloves, dreadmother, many facetts)
merc: also a5 lr

Conviction does NOT lower the poison enemy resistance!!!
So for that part, the a5 lr/cgs merc is as good as any other merc.

I would suggest a holy freeze, sanctuary (if you can deal with it, i can't) aura, confusion and/or slower missiles.

well the a5lr merc isn't suposed to help with the poison but lower the resistances for the 7 fire golems and that does make more sense than any other merc

If you say so... You are the necro-specialist, not me ;)

I just stated out, that convition dosen't lower the psn-res... So for the enemy-psn-res, he is as good as any other merc. I didn't put so much emphasis on the fire-golems at times i played a p&b nec :D

well there are some possibilities: conviction merc does help because the golems cant lower enemyresistance themselves
fanatism increases the speed of the golems, but there is a lvl 9 fana rw for babahelmets (so conviction merc gets fana too)
your freeze merc sugestion, is a good choice if you play without summons (poison and bone) but with summons, the effekt of confusion only overcasts your own curses and the summons do slow down the enemy enough
a prayer merc, not suited for golems because they do have too much live to be healed that way, but for skelletons (2 sec heals any skelleton)

in fact almost any aura does have a useful effect on sumons so the more auras the merc/you have the better it is ;)

and of course its important that conviction does NOT lower poison resistance.

maybe conviction can/should be changed to support poisinresist

or you increase the effect of the "lower resistance" curse for necros. (like batle command: everyone +1skills, baba +6 skills) Because conv would mean more dam for everyone who uses it (espacially the bow chars)
