Hey all whats the best merc combos to use with the different chars?......

i think the combat act 2 merc is good with the barb, pally, bowzon, javazon, shapeshift druid, and fighting assassin.

any of the act 3 mercs work good with the sorc as long as the type of the merc is picked up of the type of magic you arent using....
                       fire/cold sorc with a light merc
                       cold/lightnin sorc with a fire merc

and act 2 defensive merc with a summon necro



what u guys think?

and by the way which merc should i use with my multishot bowzon?????

look in the lin ki f u understand german a little, when not, i think the best merc is a2 might, with a beast weapon, but for a real hint u should post ur equip.

I personally like the support from the rogue mercs, even though they mostly suck.

try a5 merc (nightmare or hell) with faithbow + fortitude armor and dream

The very best merc in the game no matter what is a2 offencive. Fanaticism//botd eth warpike, chiads halo for freeze aura and a fortitude ap mine does 7-30k without the fanat, with its a great deal more :)

Got one question tho, has the a2 nm defiance merc been changed ? if yea its a shame, its pure skills :)

(Combat / Defensive / Offensive)
Normal: Jab, (Prayer / Defiance / Blessed Aim)
Nightmare: (Jab, Thorns / Holy Freeze / Might)
Hell: Jab, (Fanaticism / Salvation / Meditation)

NOTE the A2 merc skill used does NOT change with difficulty.  It stays as is when you hire him. (The A1 rogue choses what arrow type based on difficulty.)

okeh thanks a bunch webwalker >)  much appriciated about the merc info, it just got me confused as it dosent change despite difficulty as it usually does :)

A1 Rogue: Skill used changes with difficulty.
A2 Skill never changes, it remains as it was when hired, regardless of current difficulty
A3 Skill set never changes, it depends on merc level, not where hired nor difficulty.
A4 Merc skills never change.... there are no A4 mercs!
A5 Merc skills never change.

So only the A1 merc skills change on difficulty.

Your right Webwalker, a nornal rouge just gets better as it follows you through all lacts and levels of the mod.

She can use most weapons now besides bows.

Try to arm the with the better bows / weapons and armor. The right combo can make her a boss killer. In the past, I have had rouges with twice the dmg of the character. Tbetter the armor and resists keep her from dying from a boss hit.

The doll stash now lets you get a Vikie which helps pin down normal monsters for the killing.

As for how to equipe a rouge, it all depends what you can find or get to equipe her with. Mainly try to get the best for her, trying out different tempered rune words on bows with the use of oils work nicely. Don't make items indestructable, it can interfer with the use of ols and rune words. The better jewels work good on items that won't acept rune words.

Others can probly list different cobinations of items that work good, but I find them hard to use, unles you have a large selection of better items in the shared stash. In SP play collecting them is slowed. Gambling helps but its borring.

That cant be true, unless there are something wrong with my game.

Here is how mine goes, for some strange reason there isent a defiance a2 merc. no matter what difficulty.
Is there something wrong here or ?


Defensive: normal: Cleansing. nm: Holy Freeze. hell: Salvation

The rest has changed somewhat alittle aswell. Its quite annoying that there are no defiance.

Yes you are right. The Act2 Defensive merc uses the cleansing aura.
If you need the defiance aura you can hire the Act5 merc from Normal difficulty.
