Post by: back2toxic on December 09, 2005, 11:57:18 pm

i installed D2 -> LoD -> 1.10 -> 7.55 -> activated -> 7.64

i can play CE at home without problems, but it doesnt work at my girlfriends PC though its better equiped than mine... any suggestions about the problem?

There are two ways to meet the requirement:

Either
1: have the LOD CD in the drive or
2: create an image of the LOD CD (via BlindWrite or Alcohol120%) and mount the image on a virtual CD drive (DaemonTools)

If you use BlindWrite (as I did) you get two files, one 640MB in size the other a few KB with a .bwt extension.  This smaller file is the one to mount with DaemonTools.

Alcohol120% might (from what I've read here) have the ability to both create the image and mount it... somebody who uses Alky please fill in.

This massive failure-to-allow-fun suggests that maybe the install is not corerct for lack of video drivers or something as basic...
What version of DirectX is installed?
What evrsion OS (I'm runnign Win98SE)?
What video chip & driver?
Glide Wrap? Direct3D? DirectDraw?

This sounds like a fundamental hardware/OS hole-in-the-road-and-somebody-stole-the-steel-lid!
