Title: Character corrupted? Is there a possibility to fix it?

Well, it's again me, sry  for spamming.

I played few hours with my necro on 7.68-7.73c. I got to nightmare and gained 47 lvls, ofc some nice items+many gems/runes/dolls and so on.
One day (on 7.73c) I tried to join game and there appeared error: ACCESS_VIOLATION... I couldn't join a game, no matter how I tried.
Then I installed (actually today ;)) 7.74 and copied save files to new d2 folder and when I try to get to the game there is an error (in-game): Cannot enter to the game. Inappriopiate file (or so, I am translating from Polish).
How to cope with this?
I don't want to lose everythink, espiecially sacrificed hours to exp and get to the nm ;/
Is there a posibility to do anything?

773 and 774 are not compatible, you need to remove all gem, bodypart and oil "caskets"
then character is ok again for 774, but you can do this only with 773
