Post by: the_simpsons_86 on June 04, 2005, 10:58:19 am
now i am playing werewolf, i plan to max fury, rabies and its syne ( posion creeper, carrior vine) i also want to max oak sage, were wolf and lyc. So what do u think about this were wolf, does it stand any chance in hell?

By the way, i still confuse about equip for werewolf, should i use 2 hand weapon or 1 hand with shield, and what equip should i use for this kind of werewolf.

thanks for helping

You don't have to max "Werewolf" - 1 point is enough. Instead of this skill its an good idea to skill the dire wolfs. So your grizzly and the wolfes have enough life to block your enemies.
Rabies + Syns max
Oak Sage max
Lycanthropy max
Fury max
Dire Wolfes max
Grizzly 1

Good equip is:
-RW Morning Dew in a Great Poleaxe or Giant Tresher
-RW Fortitude or Chains of Honor in an armor with good res
-RW Blood in a belt with good res
-Rapturous Blessings (Unique Heavy Bracers with Salvation-Aura) -> very important, otherwise it is very difficult to get good res on hell
-Boots from Travincal-Set
-Corruption-Coils-Set (increases your Poisondamage by 100%!) socket with Ber-Runes in Rings and Um-Rune in Amu
-RW Mystery or Enlightment in a druid-helm

2nd-Slot:
RW Heart of the Oak in a crafted flail (+5 Skills)
RW Starlight in a 4 socket shield (+3 Skills)
I use the 2nd slot to cast werewolf, oak sage, carrion vine, dire wolfes and grizzly
Instead of Heart of the Oak you can also use RW Call to Arms, but you have always to shift in druid-form to cast the Battle Orders and Battle Commands. I think the druid has enough life without BO so I use HotO ;)

The RW Morning Dew is the ultimative Weapon RW for a werewolf. Every time you kill an enemy you will cast level 20 static field! You dont need to block, because you will have >20K life and many lifeleech.
Stats:
Dex about 100 (so you can wear your weapon, if you have enough oil of skill you can leave it at base)
Str same as Dex
Vita rest
Ene its helpfull to put about 10 points in it when you start (so you have enough mana to cast your summons)

I like using bows  with my werewolfs.  Buriza is awesome for middle levels  (i had 1 with 6 sheals in it, ii think was a bit overkill but then 200 IAS on was awesome).  Then I used to use windforce for awhile.  Now i'm using bloodravens bow with 2 zods and 3 ohms.

i was looking for a better rare bow to temper and make runword out of then make it etheral and indestructible then ladder reset. =)  Anyway   The bows are extermly fast at least they appear to be more so then polearms and spears.

About Max Block on a WereWolf: They have a HORRIBLE set of Block Recovery breakpoints, and a much better set of Hit Recovery breakpoints, ergo it's better to have a 2-handed weapon and hit back quick than to try to (slowly) block incoming attacks.  Block-lock can be a killer.

I wrote that he should max lycanthropy. Only this skill increases the life!
Werewolf increases your attackspeed und your attackrating. Later you will have enough +skill-items to reach the speedcap from the skill and so more than 1 point is a waste in my eyes.
If your chance to hit is to bad you should equip your merc with the conviction-aura.
