nocd.exe changes some of the component files of D2, you must re-install D2/LOD to correct this, then upgrade to 1.10, then install CE Mod version 7.55, activate the CE mod, and install the latest CE Mod upgrade patch.

Then, use alcoloh120% or BlindWrite to make an image on your hard-drive of your (entire) LOD disk, then use something like Daemon Tools to "mount" this image as a virtual CD.  This works with D2/LOD, Battle.net doesn't mind it, and the ChaosEmpire works well with it also.  I have 2 physical CD devices, Windows Explorer sees 6 because I have 4 virtual CDs from Daemon Tools.  One of those always has the LOD disk mounted on it, so I can play without a physical CD in the drive.

You will need a legitimate set of CD keys to do this.
