Hi

I mreally thinking about the reactivation of the time limit for charakters...

2847 charaters in CE Europe which are only created, but never played..

this means 380kb divided through 2847....
130bytes each file...this makes the server slow, they must be backuped, extracted and so on, each file needs more time (cause they are so small)

so please delete characters, which are unsued, also it is not nice to block names, in hope you will ever play this charakter

i think u should activiate 90 days limit for unused chars, i think the biggest opart iof unused chars are old ladderr (now nonladder) chars which are only for nice memorys ut will never be played anymore.

plz excuse my (atm) silly englsih but im just back fram a demionstration against rassistic nationaklists in oldenburg, itw was hard and the beer after the action was free

i tested it, and it will only deactivate the char...but the file is only deleted when user deletes the non working char...

i don't think he got a script for it and unless somebody writes one or he deletes every single unused character by hand it won't happen

but if the chars are deaktivated like in bnet most users will delete them i think.

Das geht doch einfacher, indem man nonladder abschafft. sind wir ehrlich mehr als 5 user sind da eh nie. so könnte man zum ende eine ladder saison, die server runterfahren, erst dann den abzug aller chars machen, der dann downloadbar is und dann wird komplett jeder einzelne char gelöscht von chaos. das nix mehr da is. alle die unbedingt nonladder spielen wollten, müssen dann sp spielen, was aber nix groß ändert, weil eh kaum leute da sind und alle anderen starten in eine neue ladder saison mit null chars im charscreen.

naja aber das ende dieser laddersaison is laut chaos erst ab ende des jahres oder so... von daher bleiben die chars bis dahin halt ewig liegen

aber du hast recht in nonladder spielt sogut wie niemand da kann man auch sp spielen

man könnnte ja auch son daueraufruf an alle im spiel machen (so wie das mit den donate aufruf) das man mal seinen acc "aufräumen" soll. also ich habs nach dem lesen dieses threads schon gemacht^^

hmm, awa die "unused" chars sin ja teils auch mulis denk ich ma... un die löschen... hmm, dann fehlt n großer teil von d2, das "messi" verhalten ^^

nein ich rede von unused character

das bedeutet, die sind nur als default angelegt mit 130byte (ein nackter eingeloggter char hat eine grössere byte zahl..sprich die wurden angelegt, aber niemals eingeloggt)

achso...hmm, kannst nich einfach nach files suchen die kleiner als 131byte sind und die alle paar tage löschen? das müsste doch irgendwie gehn denk ich...
also wenn das auf den servern so is wie son normales explorer fenster mit daten drin, da kamma doch nach größre sortieren... (man merkt ich habe null ahnung wie das OS eines servers aufgebaut is ^^)

Das is ne Linux Console afaik, sieht so ähnlich aus wie DOS.

und per dos/linux shell (konsole ist eine shell) musst du jeden delete befehl einzeln tippen...

das sind doch eigentlich nur einträge in der DB oder? da gabs doch mal die umstellung? die müsste sich doch automatisch prunen lassen???

die char sidn nicht in einer datenbank sondern im filesystem

und zu jedem char save file, gibt es auch noch ein info file...das liegt ine inem ordner der so heisst wie der acc..
sprich wenn ich das file in meinen acc verschiebe gehört mir dein char
