"loaders don't work": You can make an image of the LOD CD, using BlindWrite or Alcohol120% (program, not beverage) or similar.

You can mount this image using DaemonTools or equivalent, which puts your LOD CD on a "virtual CD drive".

This can be used to support playing D2LOD on battlenet, it also supports playing CE.  I've been doing this since March, I'm not even sure where my LOD CD is.

P.S. guys and gals: Many helpers here are German, and read & write English with a bit of difficulty.  Using chatspeak and 'who cares' grammar reduces the effectiveness of the helpers. For example, your use of "your" when you should use "you're", and other careless points.  Please be kind to your helpers.

Windows98SE is the *only* version I use, and I play about every day, so it's not a Windows version problem.

If you've used a loader with D2LOD before, I'd recommend a *fresh* *clean* install of D2 and LOD in a new directory, then get the 1.10 patch from blizzard/battle.net, then install 7.55, then activate, then install 7.59

Just guessing, very bad grammar indeed, i posted a link to a translation website, hopefully they understand enough english to use it.
