Poison/Summon Necro Question

ima a summoner hybrid, but i juz dont know whats best... should i make Bone (spirit and synergies) or poison (Poison nova and synergies)? and another thing, is it worth to max Corpse Explosion? ty for ur time, cya round guys :)

edit: also, what golem is the best? a good base item Iron golem maybe...

coropse explosion is the best skill or necromancer, it kills whole screens with one corpseo n high lvls.

golems are crap imo.

i thing pnova is the best because u can use facets to reduce enemys resists and push your damm, and its an massdestroyer

i had a lvl 96 psn/summon/ce nec in last ladder and a lvl 94 bone/ce nec.
psn nec was much more fun to play imho...

but chaos said that on 2 servers (server 4 and ??) he improved some things for bone nec....so maybe bone nec is now better

boneghost is really good for a little bit fun pvp^^
psn-nova isn't so good in pvp, but better in pvm except dungeon cause ancient diablo is always PI and it takes a long time to kill him with skeletons-.-

Fenris you are wrong.
The Ancient Diablo is always immun to fire,lightning,cold and poison damage.
Sometimes it is immun to physical damage, too.

but never magical damage. I think with bone spirit killing one monster should be faster. And if you have at least one corpse you can start exploding them.

sorry bout my ignorance but whats a "boneghost"? is it some kind of build or what? and one more question! should i max skeleton mages too? or are they worthless?

boneghost means bonespirit (level 30 skill)

I think the mages arent strong enough in hell although chaos improved their damage.
The biggest problem is that they block your other skells so they can't get close to the monsters.

Does anybody know how much damage they exactly do ?

my poison-nova nec makes on slvl 85 only 136.875 - 138.380 Dam. And i have -121% enemy poison resistans on items (that is without lower resist).

He asked for Skell-Mages damage and not the Poison Nova!
I think only CE knows the exactly values.

okay i see you thougt PI=physical immune^^

i didn't know the english name for knochengeist so i write boneghost
isn't ghost and spirit the same thing?

as far as i know is allways, as mentioned before, immune to fire, cold, lighting and poison damage and is he immune to magic OR physical damage.

yes it is the same, by translation. but i guess the meaning might differ, a ghost can be a scary ghost while a spirit is something more nice, like the spirit of the ancients in the native american belief.

Ghost is more like "Gespenst" in German
And Spirit is more like "Seele"

An Armynancer with Magic Damage (Bone spells) would be more effective against Ancient Diablo, because he can always kill him. Sometimes he is immune to Poison AND Phys Dam, but then u can kill him with Magic damage. Or the other way round.
It all returns to nothing...

Well, but it takes a while to kill the ancient or DC with bonespirit..:)
So i would always use a merc with a lot CB, the chance of the ancient beeing immune to physical dam, aint too high, and even if he is, just walk away, wait a few seconds, and the problem is solved. This tactic always worked for my necro ;)

And one other thing, DONT bring corpse explosion to the maximum, in fact if u reach skillevel 100 (dont know if its same for slvl30) u wont do any Phys dmg anymore..just 100% fire..
So imo the best lvl is like 15-20, with additional skills u still can reach a very high level, without losing the ability to do physical dmg.

This knows probably only chaos. But with 1 point in the mages you have enough that they can kill single fire/magic/physical immunes, even bosses like leo (it will take time, though)

I make a point of equipping my merc with gear that "plugs the holes" in my own powers.
If I'm a skelliemancer, I want my rogue to have heaps of elemental damage.  If I'm a sorc, I want my merc to deal out tons of physical damage.  For a poison/summon mancer, an act 3 elemental (lightning) might be the best hole-plugger.
CE does fire & physical, skellies do physical, I do poison damage, cold & lightning are the two holes (mercs can't do much to plug the "magic damage" hole), so a lightning merc would probably do best.  (cold is not your friend when you need corpses).

The akt3 lightning merc is not very good. And if you take a fanaticism/might merc, the skellis do lots more damage. This is why i recommend killing immunes (there should not be to many) with the mages. Or just ignore them

I've an act3 cold merc on my psy-hammer (lvl95) and he kicks little frozen pieces of butt.
Is the lightning merc weaker (same level) than the cold merc?

i heard from different people that he does less damage, even if he  same damage, the cold merc got the freezing effect which can be very useful and also he pierces resistances with glacial spike

the problem with cold merc is that you can't use him with necro beacuse of the freezing effect (no corpses)

i think its the same casting speed... but in some ocasions spear is better because it pierces and can hit many monsters, max both :)
