Topic: Error initialising ChaosEmpire.dll

Hi,
I'm getting a bit mucking fuddled here and would really appreciate some help ...

No matter what version I try (7.51, 7.55, 7.59) after successfully activating Ce, I try to start CE and after the mouse cursor changes to a cd, I get the error message in the title.

Maybe my setup is unusual, so I'll list it here :

German NT4.0
English LOD

It makes no difference which language version I try, or whether full screen or window

I suspect that the problem is NT4.0 but would appeciate some definitive statement about this

ps - I've read lots of posts, but somehow missed the important information. Links to ce.grimms don't work, so I couldn't read those

hmm i have neer heared about a user runngin d2 on nt4 system
so i cant tell you if the dll is compatible withnt4..

i only remeber that i added stuff specially for win9x system...
nt based system like 2000 and 2003 seem to work fine

I know, who uses nt4 these day (*hangs head in shame*)

However, not to be outdone (I mean D2 does run fine), I looked at some of the dlls that the activation part generates and there does appear to be a problem with ChaosEmpire.dll

Using the 'Schnellansicht' function, it looks as if something is not quite right. For instance, the import table is screwy (gibberish) and section UPX0 officially 'contains uninitialised data'. I don't think this is meant to be like this - the other dlls are all ok (i.e. clean readable entries).

Any help ?
