Gem Bags

Currently, a gem bag cubed with nothing else results in removing the lowest gem from the bag.  Cubing a health potion with a gem bag could result in the highest gem from the bag, the bag itself, and another health potion (allowing the gem to be removed and the transmutation to be repeated).  Using the health potion as a control would allow more convenient and powerful use of gem bags.  Do you agree with this suggestion or not?

I was not sure how one would go about submitting an RFE... this seemed as good a way as any.  Is there a pre-established manner by which one can submit suggestions?

hmmm, might be usefull but putting in a health potion everytime is more complicated than the way it is atm -.-

Your English is better than my German.  :)  I think the simplest way to explain this is a diagram:

Suggestion

+ --> --> + +

The health potion () comes back after transmute.  That way, you can take the topaz () and transmute again.

I would post in German but I don't know any German at all.  I hope this diagram is good enough to clear things up.

Basically your idea sounds great, however this very forum has a "Wishes & Ideas Thread" (Wünsche und Ideen Thread) in which this posting would best go.
Although most contributions are in German, there are also some English suggestions. And Chaos' English should suffice to translate your suggestion.
I'm guessing that's also what Gauron was trying to say.

Er schlägt vor, die Gem Bags unter Zuhilfenahme von z.B. Heiltränken anders leeren zu können.
Also z.B. Gem Bag + Heiltrank = höchster Edelstein aus dem Beutel, statt wie üblich den niedrigsten.
Alles was er also möchte, ist mehr bequemlichkeit beim Edelstein-aus-dem-Beutel-zerren.
Durchaus eine sinnvolle Idee imho. Aber natürlich im falschen Thread. Darauf habe ich nochmal hingewiesen.

I get confused when i see more than 3 numbers in a row, and in exchange I have a bit of a knack in languages. ;)
Well either way, if you feel you're missing out on an important message because you can't speak German, do feel free to ask me. I'm usually never too busy to translate a message or two.

But most people wouldn't need it cuz they keep only perf gems.

I am not "most people", I keep almost all, gem chip and above.

I also (plan to) keep 2 sets of gem bags, and put the perfs all in one set using the other set for building perfs.

I've no idea whether the bag could respond to a right-click by a sub-menu pop-up for what gem to pull out, nor whether they could be like Horadric Cubes where the chip/whatever could just be dropped into the bag directly rather than needing to transmute bag & chip in my (usually stuffed) Cube.

As it is the gem bag is an absolutly wonderful invention, Praise the Inventor!

another idea would be to make the same recipt with a heal potion but with 10 or 15 PGs. So if u want to get 15 PGs out of the Bag it would be easier and faster:

+ ---> ---> + 10(15)x

it is not really necessary - but it would be nice - especially when trying to cube some unique or trading the PGs

wär doch praktisch wenn man auf einmal viele PGs aus dem Beutel kriegt - also z.b. 10 oder 15 gleich. Gerade wenn man uniques cuben oder mit den Steinen handeln will ists halt viel weniger arbeit.

well first of all the gem-bags are based on a plugin chaos didn't actually create...

so i think he is not able to change anything there

i also agree with shinlos most people only keep the perfect ones

the idea of countdracula is not bad though because you need 15 gems most times for any recipes to create uniques :)

they are completly done by me..

the formulars behind are completly redoine..

I was just coming to the forum to suggest the same thing:

Bag + Health = Bag + Health + Perf from Bag
Bag + Mana = Bag + Mana + 15 Perf from Bag
Bag + Rejuv = Bag + Rejuv + 25 Perf from Bag (for making ghost dolls from Skulls)

It would also be nice if you could do something like

Bag + Health + (x Perfs) = Bag + Health + (x Perfs + 1 from bag)

so you don't have to take gems out of the cube one at a time and them put them all back in later.

Just for the record I like Countdracula idea.  Gem bags are awesome but to remove 15 or 25 one at a time is somewhat tedious.
