7.55 to 7.59 update problems

I'm currently using the 7.55 version with no problems.

I then downloaded the lasted version 7.59  (759upd.zip)
based on the readme.txt file I unzipped the update in the diabloII folder and said YES to overwrite all.

Now when I attempt to run " _Play Chaos Empire in English" I recieve a text box that says

Warning Corrupted File:
patch_d2.mpq

I've reinstalled Diablo2 and LOD  several times and Updated with 7.55 version then did exactly as instructed for 7.59.  Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to get Chaos Empire to run?

do you download the ACTUALL 7.55 version from this site? or u use an older (first ) version=

download the actuall version,install it,than overwrite witch 7.59.think thats the problem.

me too.....updatet with old version...no go...new installed,updated...copyed...everythinks was ok.

Also make sure that before you install any patches (7.59), make sure that you active Chaos Empire (but not start the game), or you will have to re-install Diablo 2 LOD yet again.  << been there, done that >>

well you don't have to do a complete reinstall of d2 you can do some tricks as described in drow-elf's "installation problems" thread in the bugforum but you are right it's much more work if you don't activate 7.55 before updating

Thanks all. What SVK_Guaron told me in his first reply worked.
I needed the newer version of 7.55 from the forum download section
