Single Player error

I can play online, but if I try to play single player mode, I get the error "Unable to enter game, generic bad file".

Could someone tell me which file is bad so I can replace it?

do you use an old CE character with a dollstash in newer version(above 7.50)?

I did have a 7.50 character which I just deleted.  I just got the same error when I created a new character.  I am using ver 751.

I do recall awhile back when I finished playing single player I went into multiplayer without closing Diablo and it froze my computer.  I had to turn off the power to reboot.
This may have corrupted something.

if a new create char has also this problem, then please try to remove the *.sss files in your save\ce-mod folder

or move the folder to a save location, and retry it with a "fresh" har..also without any extended stash files

if this also not works for a fresh clean character, then your d2 installation must be broken

removing the #.sss file was the problem.  Single Player now works.
