Since my son moved home, he has asked me to get CE running on his machine.
I have a full set of CDs and can play 1.07 single-play on it.

Attempts to install 769.exe and 770a_upd.zip result in an un-activatable install.

Do I need to update 1.07 via blizzard-net first?

well i guess its not needed to update it first, but better safe than sorry; ftp://chaosempire.eu/Realm_related/LODPatch_110.exe

after this 1.10 patch, install 7.69

than activate CE

than copy the 7.70a into your d2 folder and it should be running
