Cant get online, need help.

I wanted to post in the other forum for this stuff, but Im not allowed to create topics there appearently. Okay so I used to play CE online like a year ago, and I wanted to play again. I took a clean D2 install and installed CE, activated, upped to 7.70a and started the game. Single Player works, but I cant get onto Bnet. It'll give me the "Bnet was unable to properly identify your version" error over and over. I've reinstalled CE like 10 times, trying everything. I also tried with just 7.69 and 7.70 versions.

I suspect that D2Maniacs might be causing some problems, because once I connect to the standard bnet I pick Europe as server, but then at the login screen I see the D2Maniacs realms instead of the normal bnet ones. I guess this is what is causing CE to not let me on? But how do I fix this? I feel like Ive tried so many things and Im running out of ideas..

Hope someone reads this post soon, I know this isnt the most active game forum but dunno where else to go.

Maybe you use a changed game.exe, this will cause a version check fail, also dll modifications, not done by Chaos Empire will cause this issue

Quick reply, thanks. :P Im using a fresh d2 install (Install from CD and upped to 1.10, tried 1.11b and 1.12a too) and I only install CE and run the game.exe from there, didnt add in anything else at all.

I deleted PlugY and set the Chaos Empire server as my chosen gateway, that seemed to fix it.
