X% chance to defend attacks??

i found some 2handed weapons have "X% chance to defend attacks"

what that mean?

that mean, blocking monster's attacks like a Shield?

when i use that,

i cannot see block motions or blocking sound.

and cannot see "chance to block %" in stat window.

only i can find "X% chance to defend attacks" in 3rd page of stat window.

how do i know that works(blocking)?


and is it possible X% chance to defend attacks option with rare or craft item?
