trouble with finding stuff

ummm so im stuck in act 2 still lol.  im playing offline and im stuck there cause i gotta make the horadric staff.  i read up that i need andy doll and some other things.  do i jus kill till i get andy or do i go to a certain place? or am i wrong completely?
