this was a really nice story
good for a laugh or two :P

buy a good network adapter, instead of your cheap onboard solution, and you already have similiar stuff, without unneeded things

an intel or 3com board in mid range price level should be enough, to stop high load on cpu
and if the load of network is downgrading your fps...then you should buy a better g/c-pu....instead of such stuff
or lower details in game...

dont expect a 80year old man to run 100meter in 8seconds...also if you give him high tech running shoes..this wont help..
