Has the Nova sorc been nerfed?

Anyway  wouldn't suggest going more than two separate types of elements.  Just stick with enchant if you really want to do fire damage and then just put that on your mercenary (unless you are a suicide sorc and go melee *anti-melee sorc flame backlash shield engaged* - don't hurt me >,<) 

Really depends on your playing style and how easy is it for you to obtain decent to top tier quality items (not Uber items).

But what about warmth for mana regain? Won't I need that?

If you bother putting points into ENERGY, sorc's really don't have any mana problems.  Also most spell casting sorc items have +mana regen of 75%+ making warmth pointless (okay 1 point if you want enchant).  And most gear gives +skill so warmth will go up naturally on top of the mana regen items. 

Basically blue orb (or goblin or whatever that thing is lol) will rarely go down unless you have mana shield, then kiss it good bye if you let baddies hit you.
