Confusing multiplayer error please help!!!

Have just done a fresh install of D2 and upgraded to the new 765 version.All went fine,deleted teddys and stuff that needed to be done.Single player works just fine.

The problem i have is that when i go into open multi,i cannot join a game nor can i host a game it just times out everytime!!!

Please help!!

if so, are you connected to chaos core community server?
next step..is correct port forwared in your firewall? 7601

No just trying to do a tcp/ip game...

Only played multi in open tcp/ip before mostly than any other way

i know that there are sometimes issues in local tcpip connections, cause of timeouts and so on, cause the huge amount of additional data in ce, decreases startup time for a game..
i manged this, only by opening games from the other computer..

Managed to join a hosted game but seems to be spasmodic,still cant host a game though,just seems strange chaos that i never had this problem before.

Maybe a format might resolve these issues :)
