Soul Stones question?

Minor nit: "souls" become dolls, "soul stones" are unique small charms; see Itemlist page for details.

Souls?  I haven't found a use for mine... Oh, you mean in-game... I only know of making dolls of them.

I think that's "random rune".

I don't usually have 36 spare squares of space to generate an El rune, so I'll pass.
I'll find a heart, which makes *any* rune, before I find 10 scrolls.

how about disabling downgrade of runes..so EL will be much more worth than zod...

and the 10scolls one rune recipe is only, to give the scrolls any sense :P

Only certain monsters drop scrolls and those monsters drop them as readily in PoC as they do in CGS, so it doesn't make sense for them to be worth very much.

10 scrolls --> one random rune
is at least useful when starting out.

If something else is needed, maybe:
1 rune + scroll --> next lower rune
X scrolls --> random oil
X scrolls --> random body part
X scrolls --> random gem
right click scroll to get +1 all skills for 2 minutes

How about cube the scrolls into something (maybe a recolored tome of town portal/identify or tome of Lam Esam) that can be transmuted into a Book of Wisdom after enough scrolls?
Tome of Town Portal + Tome of Identify + Mysterious Book --> Compendium of Chaos(0 scrolls inserted)
Compendium of Chaos(X scrolls inserted) + Scroll of Wisdom --> Compendium of Chaos(X+1 scrolls inserted)
Compendium of Chaos(250 scrolls inserted) + torch + brain --> Book of Wisdom

Or maybe a Tome of Knowledge that goes in the inventory (a charm) and gives bonuses to energy, skills levels, +% elemental damage, or -% enemy resistance.
