Meaning: If you create a new character, it can get to the stash and not freeze?

Are you in SinglePlay or online?  If you're in Single Play it might be a problem iwth the shared stash.

If you're online, there has been a problem with leaving a game and joining a new game causing a crash... What OS do you use? (Mine's Win98SE)

Please give a few more details...

I think I saw somewhere where ChaosEnergy said something about having to many 1 spot items as there is only so much space on a 256k file.

Just an Idea, maybe you have to many items that take up one space in the character stash.  Try dropping any replaceable potions,  Scrolls of ID and Townportals and see if that wont work.

alright ill try that first one, however i dont think thats the prob...i use...win xp i think, and a pretty much new comp, so im hoping its not a hardware issue or i might just die. anyway thx ill post back if that all dont work

Hi I'm bdpf and I play SP only.

I use  Xp Pro, too.

1. You may have a conflicting software issue or memory hog.

2. Do you have any hacked items from a different mod?
    My shared stash is huge and I dont seem to have any problem.
    It is a good idea to keep personnel stash small.

3. I do suggest that you clear the task bar of running items
    and shut down any programs running in the background.
    You did not meantion how much ram you had.
    A half geg is best, below this the mod runs slow.
    Any anti-virus or adware scans will interfer with CE.

4. I use zonealarm, avg, spybot-search&distory and scotty.
    These are all the free versions and run on the task bar while I play SP CE.

5. Be sure you are running a clean version of D2 lod & Ce 7.65SP2

6. Try this to see if it is realy your stash that is causing the problem.

    Rename / compress your stash fies in the ce_mod folder. Delete them and
    try an old character or new one.

Good luck I know how frustrating it can get.

I am having the same problem. Clean install. deleted stash. New character. Left town went up to level 5. Came back opened stash. moved mouse game crashed.

EDIT:I have figured out what causes this problem. I had installed plugy in my diabloii directory and installed it. It conflicted with the plug y built into the mod causing the game to crash.

Solution:Do not install plugy for this mod. It is built in. game will run fine then.

Edit 2: Have played for several hours without a single crash. When you install plugy, it must set off the anticheat.dll.
