When I'm installing 7.55, I get this message: Checksum error. What is up with that? Also, I get another message: Warning: Corrupted File, patch_d2.mpq. I unistalled and reinstalled Diablo II completely about 4 times, I also deleted any remnants of Diablo II and Choas Empire from my registry. I still get the same messages. I NEED HELP! Thanks.

Re-download the 7.55 patch.  Then do The Right Thing (D2, LOD, 1.10 LOD patch from battle.net, then 7.55 CE patch, then activate, then 7.64 CE over-write)

There was an initial release of 7.55 that has more lives than a cat/hydra crossbreed, and that initial release (only for about 24 hours) had a bug whose symptoms match what you're saying.

Noting Chaos' comment above, make sure the version of 7.55 you download comes from here, not another site.

(Radioactive cats have 18 half-lives)

btw this 7.55 was only a few hours online...
i m still wondering that some sites mirror this version..

I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure it was here. I left a message sometime ago, maybe around August or September, about not being able to do certain things with the mod. Come to find out I had an old outdated version. I'll download 7.55 from your link. Thanks again.
Ok. The new 7.55 worked. I recieved a new error message though...Warning: Corrupted File D2extra.dll. I didn't post this right away because I came up with a solution. I copied the D2exrta.dll from a working system and over written it to the system I was having problems with. Obviously, this worked. The reason why I'm posting this now is what if I didn't have another system to fall back on. What would have been your solution? Thanks again.

Since my method: "clean install D2, LOD, 1.10 upgrade, 7.55 install, activate, 7.64 install" seems not to have worked for you, I'm curious but unable to answer your question with surity.  Suggestion: re-name this working installation D2save, and follow the "normal" steps for a completly new install, see if that works.  If not, then 2 things can be done:
1: name the new isntallation d2broken, rename d2save as "Diablo II", which will allow you to keep playing,
2: compare the files in the two copies to see which differer.
