Topic: Stash Corruption

While playing lan game via TCP/IP, twice my friend's stash has lost the buttons that allow movement between pages and switching between personal and shared stash, and once this has happened to me, at the same time it happened to him.  The _LOD_ChaosEmpireTradeStash.sss file in the save folder becomes 0 in size, and everything is lost in the stash (Except what is on the first screen) and the
character becomes corrupted and cannot be played.

The following errors occur:

When trying to start in single player: Unable to enter game, bad header

When trying to host a TCP/IP game: Unable to enter game, generic bad file

When trying to join a TCP/IP game: Unable to enter game

So, right now, we really can't play the mod, because we keep losing all of our stuff and our characters....

its a known issue of plugy that in MP sometimes files get corrupt, if connection is not perfect...
make backups until the coder of plugy gets fixed it

Wow, that really sucks. Right now, it's totally unplayable on LAN for us. We can play for about 5 minutes before one of us crashes and loses everything in our stash and get corrupted character files. And backing up wouldn't be ap roblem, except that we never know for sure when it's going to crash...   so exiting the game and backing up every time we find a nice item turns into a problem very quickly.

This is the first version of CE that this has been an issue for us. It's always been pretty stable before.

None of the other mods that I've been trying that use plugy have seemed to have this problem. Is it possible to install plugy seperately?

there is a newer version 5.04
including a fix, i have to clarify what is fixed..then i will make a fix pack for ce

remember...all fixpacks will be based on the newer 755.exe (with map showing 755 not 751)

Neato. Can't wait. I'm playing single player now, but it's just much more fun in MP.  I've been playing CE since May 2004, and it's spoiled me for any other mod.
